Balclutha Grandstand

Project was a Design and Build joint venture with MWH. MWH were the senior partner in the joint venture and were responsible for client negotiations and contract administration. The design of the project was based on the Caledonian Development at Logan Park. While the project was completed for the South Otago A&P Society the Grandstand formed part of the overall showgrounds redevelopment carried out by the Balclutha District Council. A number of ancillary buildings for the council were carried out in conjunction with the Grandstand. The construction was generally precast with a steel roof structure and insulated panel roof. Toilet facilities were provided with space provided for future showering facilities. Seating capacity is 687.
